Wordless Wednesday: Nap Buddies

Today Monkey and Buster napped together on the office futon!  Buster is always a good napper, but Monkey has been refusing to nap anywhere that wasn’t on me!  His poor little GI system has been through the ringer recently with his horrible acid reflux.  Luckily, we’ve found a medicine that not only works, but we can also get Monkey to take!  (It is impossible to get 1.5ML of a nasty liquid into a baby 3 times a day without a lot of effort and stress!)

Buster is still deciding where he fits in our pack relative to Monkey, but most of the time, he loves his baby.

Chocolate Cherry Cookies

For Valentine’s Day, I wanted to try some new cookies, and I found this recipe on All Recipes.   I wanted MM to have some special grown-up cookies, and these are a more mature drop cookie.  Frog ate one, and decided that he’d rather eat a Little Debbie snack! I suppose it turned out as a perfect Valentine’s treat for my husband– he didn’t have to compete with Frog to get at the homemade cookies.

Mommy Struggles and Finding Balance

My word for the year was previously defined as pause, but I think I should also include the word balance.  I’m still trying to figure out this “being at home” thing.  Granted, I’m working part-time, and I have been insanely busy with deadlines and publications for work– I switched over to PT at a crunch period.    Getting through all of these deadlines is causing me a wee bit of stress, but I’m enjoying everything that I’m doing– it’s cerebral and what I went to school to be able to do.  I’ve got a couple of publications that just make me smile thinking about them.  All that is on one side of my tetter-totter…

Then on the other side is the mommy/wife thing, and right now, it’s where I feel like I’m struggling the most.  See I’ve got this little guy who is extremely wonderful, but pretty clingy:

Oatmeal Scotchies

When MM and I first started dating, I made chocolate chip cookies, A LOT.  I think it’s important when you are dating to show off  some of the skills you are bringing to the table.  I have a friend who calls this the “marketing mode” of dating.  MM loved my chocolate chip cookies, or, at least, he claimed to, as he was also in “marketing mode.”  Others have told me that I make really good chocolate chip cookies, and up until recently, I was simply following the standard Toll House recipe that I found on the back of the bag.  Now I’m sticking to the “Best” Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe that I found via Pinterest.

Hey Girl, Part 2…

Since it would be unfair to leave Frog out of the fun, I made one up for him too.  Unfortunately, he has asked that I not come to his class’s party– for the first time ever.  I know we are getting to that stage, but it still makes me sad.  I’m linking up again at the Hey Girl Linky Party.
