One of the Monkey’s teachers at preschool told me that she calls this month, “Mayhem” because of all of the craziness that goes on in families during the end of the year. I have had various functions almost every day for all three of my boys, and I’m hanging on by a thread. Yup, I’m just winging it right now. I know that I’m not alone, and every mom out there has days where she is just trying to hold it all together. This week for me it means that the boys aren’t getting a bath every night, and we are having easy to serve dinners, like Red Baron’s Pizza. I know that many moms are doing their best to hang in there right now, and I wanted to show off a t-shirt that I made to celebrate how we are all doing our best to be a WingMama during the month of May. I was delighted when Red Baron Pizza invited me to talk about these struggles as a part of their introduction of a new mascot– the Baroness.
Most of the time, we have some routine, but there is something about the end of the school year that causes the entire routine and organization of my life to slip away, and I’m not that organized to begin with. So this evening, my house is a disaster. We have had two bottles of bubbles spilled on our patio. There is something red and sticky on the kitchen floor– I believe, it’s a melted popsicle although I can’t be sure. And the little boys are lying on the floor, surrounded by toys watching a movie.
We are hanging in there, and trying to get settled into our new reality of the summer, so I decided to create my own SVG design for a shirt to celebrate that I’m going to do my darnedest to hang in there, eve if everything isn’t going quite as I expected. All I needed was a blank v-neck shirt, some Iron-On/HTV vinyl, my Cricut and an iron to create this simple design. Since I created my own SVG for this project using the Starfish font that I downloaded from DaFont, all I had to do was upload my SVG file into Design Space, and cut it out.
After you cut it out, all that’s left is to iron it onto your shirt. It’s best to prewash shirts to help insure that the shirt doesn’t shrink and disturb the vinyl.
Other than creating the SVG file, this project took me all of 15 minutes to create, and I can celebrate the fact that I’m just winging it through the start of summer. So tonight, as we move into the Memorial Day weekend and the official start of swim meets, Vacation Bible School, lightning bugs and sleeping in, we are going to celebrate with a Red Baron pizza because I don’t want to cook.
Good thing the Littles like them! (BTW, in our house, when we are having “no school days,” I have learned that pants and shirts can sometimes be optional if you are a small boy.
If you are interested in learning more about the new mascot of Red Baron Pizza, the Baroness, who is a woman soldiering through motherhood with a bomber jacket covered in patches of accomplishments, like The Clean Plate Club, On the Fly, or Seeking Babysitter, you’ll love the Baroness, you can be followed on social media or directly on their website.
