Just Winging It Shirt: Celebrating the Wing Mama

One of the Monkey’s teachers at preschool told me that she calls this month, “Mayhem” because of all of the craziness that goes on in families during the end of the year.  I have had various functions almost every day for all three of my boys, and I’m hanging on by a thread.  Yup, I’m just winging it right now.  I know that I’m not alone, and every mom out there has days where she is just trying to hold it all together.  This week for me it means that the boys aren’t getting a bath every night, and we are having easy to serve dinners, like Red Baron’s Pizza.  I know that many moms are doing their best to hang in there right now, and I wanted to show off a t-shirt that I made to celebrate how we are all doing our best to be a WingMama during the month of May.  I was delighted when Red Baron Pizza invited me to talk about these struggles as a part of their introduction of a new mascot– the Baroness.

Are you just winging today as a mama? This t-shirt design is for you! Sharing my experiences as a #wingmama (Sponsored by Red Baron Pizza)

How to Hide Television Cords on the Wall

So televisions are mounted to the wall in most houses it seems.  At least that’s what I’m taking away from House Hunters and other home renovation shows.  And when there is a renovation, or if you have a newer home, it seems like outlets are put in strategic locations where the television might go.  Well, we have an older home.  My grandparents had it built in 1958, and until we started updating the house 5 years ago, it didn’t even have grounded wiring.  The black television wires in my bedroom where just a bit of a visual nuisance to me, so I needed to come up with a way how to hide television cords on the wall from my line of sight.  It took a few attempts to make it work, but I’m very pleased with the final results!

Hanging your television to the wall? HHere's how to hide your television electrical cords on the wall to make them less obtrusive using ribbon.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios for Preschoolers

We just got back from Walt Disney World, and I thought I would share how ideal Disney’s Hollywood Studios is for preschoolers and toddlers.  I have to be honest– historically, I would have said that of the 4 parks in Walt Disney World, Hollywood Studios is my least favorite.  It’s always felt more like the action and adventure side of Disney, and less about the magic and wonder.  Between the Tower of Terror, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and the emphasis on Star Wars, it’s just seemed like Hollywood Studios was a park that is geared towards the tweens and older.  However, after this last trip to Walt Disney World with my 4-year-old Peanut and 2-year-old Monkey, I can honestly say that after the Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the best park for preschoolers!  In case you were planning your own trip, here is how to make most of Disney’s Hollywood Studios for preschoolers (or toddlers!)

Are you planning on heading to Walt Disney World? Here are several tips and tricks to make the most of your trip to Hollywood Studios for Preschoolers and Toddlers!

My Monkey loves Transformers.  Well, not all the Rescue BotsTransformers, but he’s wild about , which are perfect for little hands.  Even the Peanut enjoys these Rescue Bots.  Well, we’ve got a lot of them, and one day the Monkey decided that he wanted to store them in this large plastic Animal Cracker Container.  And I’m willing to do anything that will encourage a 4- and 2-year-old to organize and pick up.  When he started putting them all into this container, I decided to make it a bit more in style for his cool Rescue Bots by using an image that I downloaded from the internet and uploading it into Cricut Design Space to create the Monkey’s very own Upcycled Transformer Logo Container.

Did you know that you can upload your own images into Cricut Design Space? Using Clipart that you can find online, take a basic plastic jug and turn it into a cool Transformer Logo Storage Container for Rescue Bots using the Cricut Explore line of cutting machines and vinyl. Easy DIY Goldfish Snacks Jar

The Monkey loves Goldfish crackers, particularly when he gets home from preschool and needs a little quiet time after a day of playing and learning.  He asks to watch one of “My Shows, not grown-up shows!” and requests Goldfish crackers and a cup of milk.  He also likes to be independent.  That’s very important for him.  We keep most of his straws, cups and dishes at a level that he can reach because it’s very important that he does it “all by myself.”  I made with a clear storage jar and some spare vinyl this quick and easy DIY Goldfish Snacks Jar, so that the Monkey can get his own yummy Goldfish Crackers.

Make this easy, DIY "Goldfish Snacks" Jar to store your children's favorite Goldfish crackers. This fun and cheerful container is a great way to keep the crackers ready for snacking and sharing with your kiddos during your favorite family times. {Sponsored by Pepperidge Farms.}
