Slow Cooker Chicken and Dressing

I’m honestly a fan of making my own dressing or stuffing with Bell’s Seasoning and slightly stale artisan bread, but that type of stuffing isn’t something that I’m up for on the typical week night. Particularly after the holiday season.  However, pre-packaged stuffing and dressing can be an awesome addition to your slow cooker when you want some of the flavors of a holiday dinner without all of the work that comes with cooking turkey.  This recipe for slow cooker chicken and dressing could be made with turkey, if you really were craving those Thanksgiving flavors.  However, it also works as a great, easy slow cooker meal when you are looking for something easy to make for you family.Looking for an easy dinner idea that has the flavors of Thanksgiving without all of the work? Easy Slow Cooker Baked Apples

When I lived in New England, I loved apple picking and choosing from all of the wonderful varieties.    In fact, it was something that I got to do in September.  Baked apples don’t seem so suited to September in the South.  Actually, in Georgia, it seems like the orchards don’t have the same selection.  (Luckily, we do have a great collection of peach choices.)  In Connecticut, during college, I used to go to the orchard with friends, and we’d bake apple crisp at the house of the person with a oven.  I guess I need to track down that recipe! (In fact, I’ve emailed the recipe holder because he also had an amazing Goulash recipe.)  While this super easy, slow cooker baked apples certainly isn’t his apple crisp, it does bring back those flavors of New England.  It’s also such an easy dinner to make for guests because it takes only a few minutes to prepare, and looks impressive on the dinner table!

There's nothing like Baked Apples in the fall and winter! These Easy Slow Cooker Baked Apples are delicious alone or with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. A great way to have a sweet, homemade dessert! Yummy!

Chicken and Dumplings Slow Cooker Dinner

Fall is in the air… yes, imagine me doing the Mommy happy dance right now!  I am thrilled because, honestly, Summer is NOT my favorite season.  I hate heat and humidity, which is somewhat cruel and ironic for a native Atlantan!  There are so many wonderful things about the beginning of the cooler months,  like all of the wonderful and hearty recipes that are perfect for this season.  Today I’m going to tell you one of my favorite, fast and easy slow cooker/crockpot dinners.  It is much like my Heavenly Chicken recipe, in that you can basically dump the ingredients and move on, with the exception of the last step!  I love that when I’m busy or out of ideas.  I found that Progresso Chicken Pot Pie “Rich and Hearty” Soup is an excellent base for this recipe.

Sesame Ginger Pork Tenderloin

I first shared this recipe over at Designed Decor a couple of weeks ago, but in case you didn’t get a chance to check it out, I’m reposting my recipe for Sesame Ginger Pork Tenderloin. This recipe is very yummy and reminds quite a bit of another pork recipe that I’ve written about– Asian Pork Chops.  This recipe has popped up on a number of websites, but I wanted to let you know that it’s a very versatile recipe.   First you can cook it on the grill. This is a great summertime option. Alternatively, you can cook it in the crockpot/slow cooker. When I’ve seen it posted before, it is generally for the grilled variation, so I wanted to showing everyone that this recipe works wonderfully in the crockpot/slow cooker. However, at the end of the recipe, I’ll let you know how to change the recipe for the grill.
