Patriotic Freezer Paper Coasters

I have been shocked by all of the DIY coasters that crafters have created.  In fact, I have an entire Pinterest board dedicated to DIY coasters.  I really like coasters as a way to spice up a table for any holiday.  A few years ago, I created a tutorial for Beaded Patriotic Coasters that I loved, but were quite time consuming and very delicate.   This year, I am going to show you a quick tutorial to design your own patriotic freezer paper coasters that will take less than 15 minutes to complete.   I used my Cricut Explore Air™ machine, but I am also going to show you how to make coasters using freezer paper without a cutting machine.

Using cork coasters, you can make these patriotic freezer paper coasters with a cutting machine or by hand in under 15 minutes! An easy, lightening fast craft!

Easy Mickey Mouse Party Banners

This post is sponsored by Disney Parks and Cricut.  I am proud to partner with them and am honored to be using Cricut products and sharing my love of Disney.  My opinions and enjoyment of both is entirely my own.  This post may contain affiliate links, which won’t cost you extra, but helps support this site.

Today I wanted to share the super easy Mickey Mouse Party Banners that I made for our recent #DisneyKids Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Preschool Playdate.  I had been wanting to make a custom party banner using my Cricut Explore Air, and this party seemed like the perfect opportunity to make one.  I decided to make two different versions, one where I created a traditional party paper chain garland, and the other being a lettered Disney banner.  I was delighted with how both of them turned out, and how easy they were to make.  In case you’d liked to make some for your own Mickey Mouse Party, I’ve included links to the Cricut Design Space files for you to use.

Decorate for your Disney Preschool Party with these two simple and easy to make Mickey Mouse Party Banners. Both can be made quickly and easily with your Cricut Explore.

Easy Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Sign

This post is sponsored by Disney Parks and Cricut.  I am proud to partner with them and am honored to be using Cricut products and sharing my love of Disney.  My opinions and enjoyment of both is entirely my own.  This post may contain affiliate links, which won’t cost you extra, but helps support this site.

I started planning our Disney Kids Preschool Playdate, as soon as I talked to the Monkey about our “Mickey Party.”  We wanted the party to focus on the little boys play fort that the Mellow Man designed and built last year.  I particularly wanted a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Sign since I knew that it would suit both the party and could be used long term with their play fort.  With a few minutes of designing in my Cricut Design Space, a spare 2″x4″ and some handy goodness from the Mellow Man, I was able to create a darling and easy Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Sign in under an hour.  Plus, it cost me nothing, and looks incredible.  To me, that is a crafting win.  If you’d like to make one for yourself, here’s how to do it.

This easy to make Wooden Mickey Mouse Clubhouse sign is perfect for a party or play fort!

Springtime Mailbox Refurbishment

It must be nearly spring!  Houses are selling in our neighborhood quickly, and lots of families are out doing beautification projects.  When I was driving around our neighborhood, I was noticing that there were a lot of pretty mailboxes, and I started thinking that we needed to replace ours.  After pricing them, and realizing the cost, and acknowledging that all my mailbox needed was a little TLC, I decided that a mailbox refurbishment rather than a replacement was in order.  I thought I’d share how I went about refurbishing our mailbox, as it takes only a couple of hours, spaced over a weekend.  With the springtime weather, this is such an easy DIY to spruce up your outdoor home!

Does your mailbox look weathered and untidy? Don't replace it! You can update it inexpensively with paint and vinyl following this mailbox refurbishment to make your house stand out!

Moana Felt Flower Headband

I shared last week that we just go back from another trip from Walt Disney World. I do love being a mom of boys, but one of the things that I miss out on with only boys is the love of Disney Princesses. It’s just hard for boys to get quite as into Aurora, Cinderella, Elsa and Belle the way I see little girls doing.  And there are so many amazing Disney Princesses now– like Moana, which is now out on DVD (affiliate link)!   Sometimes, even if I don’t have little princesses at home, I’ve got to enjoy the prince magic, so I decided to create a Moana Felt Flower Headband using my Cricut Explore Air and Cricut Design Space.  I made it look a bit like a tropical plumeria flower, rather than an orchid.  (Interestingly, while it’s the flower I thought of from the movie, I’m not sure it grows in Hawaii.)

Make a Moana Felt Flower Headband using freezer paper and your Cricut cutting machine. You can create a plumeria headband for your favorite Moana fan with a few pieces of scrap felt and this tutorial.
