Happy St. Patrick’s Day: Celebrate with One Artsy Mama

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, and we’ve been wearing some green around here. I’m thrilled with my two Leprechauns, who happily wore their outfits that I made with my Silhouette Portrait. Speaking of the Silhouette, it reminds me of one of the first bloggers who convinced me that I needed a Silhouette– Amy who is also known as One Artsy Mama.  And guess what?  It’s not just St. Patrick’s Day, it’s also a very special day for One Artsy Mama. It’s her third Blogiversary! To help her celebrate, there is an awesome giveaway going on– it’s located on the rafflecopter right after the pictures of my cute kiddos in their green attire!

The Wearing of the Green Thanks to SaintPatrickDayShirts.Com

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

Does your family wear special green clothing on St. Patrick’s Day?  I try to get the boys all decked out, and in the coming days you’ll see a few projects that I’ve been working on.  Unfortunately, I have to try very hard to get the Big One on board with the wearing of the green.  He need a perfect St. Patrick’s Day Shirt for a tween, as he really didn’t want anything cutesy for St. Patrick’s day.  (Thanks goodness I still have the Little Monkey to dress up!) Enter SaintPatrickDayShirts.com, a website with a wide variety of St. Patrick’s Day attire.  I got the opportunity to receive this “Keep Calm and Shamrock On” t-shirt, and the Big One seemed pleased with the design.  He didn’t think it was too cutesy.  (Now there are a lot of shirts with more party-oriented attire available if you are so inclined.)  The shirt was a very nice weight, and extremely soft.  I hate rough feeling shirts, don’t you?

My Mom Made That: St Patrick's Day Shirt The store has men’s, women’s and children’s tees-shirts.  The women’s shirts are slightly fitted, and the men’s are the standard shirt style.  The Big One is wearing a men’s small shirt, and it is slightly big on him.  There are children’s shirts that range in size from Small to XL.  I received the shirt very promptly, within just a few days of placing my order.  Plus, many of the shirts are currently on sale!  Doesn’t get much better than that!  Be sure to check them out to find yourself without a shirt for St. Patrick’s Day– you don’t want to get pinched next month!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Grasshopper Pie

Well move on over Valentine’s Day, it’s time to get in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day.  Yes, just one short month from today is that jolliest of Irish holidays, St. Patrick’s day.  To help everyone get their Irish on, I’m going to share with you a recipe that is much like eating a frozen thin mint pie.  It’s called Grasshopper Pie, and I’m sure that there are a number of variations of this recipe.  The one I’m going to share with you today includes a bit of alcohol in the recipe that’s from Creme de Menthe and Creme de Cacao.  I will try to include suggestions to make the non alcoholic version of the recipe in case the traditional Grasshopper pie ingredients need to be modified for your family.

Here's a tasty chocolate mint Grasshopper pie with a chocolate crust, topped with Junior mints! A traditional Southern frozen pie that is perfect for St. Patrick's Day, Spring-time or any picnic.
