Restored Patio Side Table

We’ve been working on making our outdoor area wonderful for entertaining. Mellow Man has been doing lots of projects, including building a play fort, and restoring our bench. What’s more, he recently cleaned out our storage shed.  There were a lot of things that we had squirreled away, not sure what to do with them, or if we should even keep them.  One of the things that was in the scrap pile was a wrought iron patio side table.  It was rusty and missing the top, so we were going to put in on the curb.  However, with a little creativity, it turned into a lovely, aqua blue restored patio side table that really adds to our outdoor entertaining space.

Use a wooden circle and an old wrought iron table form to restore your patio side table!

Key Lime Poke Cake

Poke cakes are so great to make because the entire family can get involved.  There is something about a sheet cake that makes it much more achievable for baking with little boys. Right now my preschooler, the Monkey, loves to “help” whenever I decide to cook, so I try to pick recipes that help won’t mess up.  The Mellow Man loves pie, more than cake, and his favorite is Key Lime Pie, so I decided to make Key Lime Poke Cake.  The recipe is originally from Betty Crocker, but I decided that I wanted to change things up a bit.   It ended up being amazing.  It tastes exactly like Key Lime Pie, but with a cake base.  I was so impressed by the poke cake that I couldn’t wait to share it!

Here's a cake that's easy to make and tastes just like key lime pie! Whip up this Key Lime Poke cake in record time, and enjoy!
