Big Bang Theory Charm Bracelet

Well, besides Downton Abbey, you probably know that I love The Big Bang Theory.  When Season 7 premiered, I got together with some wonderful bloggy friends to put together a collection of wonderful Big Bang Theory crafts.  Well I had such a great time making the shirt, and I’ve enjoyed making several charm bracelets before, including one that is based on a movie that I got to thinking…  I needed to make a Big Bang Theory Charm Bracelet.  This is a very quick and easy craft to do, and all you need are some beads and charms that represent the Big Bang Theory.

Do you love the Big Bang Theory? Make this easy Big Bang Theory Charm Bracelet for yourself. Just choose a charm to represent each character and follow this tutorial!

Harry Potter Charm Bracelet

“Anyway — Harry,” said the giant, turning his back on the Dursleys, “a
very happy birthday to yeh. Got summat fer yeh here — I mighta sat on
it at some point, but it’ll taste all right.”
From an inside pocket of his black overcoat he pulled a slightly
squashed box. Harry opened it with trembling fingers. Inside was a
large, sticky chocolate cake with Happy Birthday Harry written on it in
green icing.
~JK Rowling, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

I’ve become obsessed with charm bracelets, ever since I made the swim team bracelet for Summer Swim Team Swag.  They are fun to make, and conceptualize, and fun to wear.  You can make one for almost any event or use any theme.  With that in mind, did you remember that today is Harry Potter’s Birthday?  Well, it is!  And we are big Harry Potter fans around here.  With the exception of the first 3 books, I read and finished every single Harry Potter book on its release date.  (Have I mentioned that I’m a freakishly fast reader?)  I love the books, and have read them almost as much as I have read the Lord of the Rings.  The Frog is also a fan of Harry Potter too, and has been Harry Potter for Halloween for 3 years.  I figured that I could wear this when we go trick-or-treating this year.
My Mom Made That: Harry Potter Charm Bracelet

To make this bracelet, you’ll use the same steps that I used in my previous charm bracelet, but used a collection of Harry Potter charms including a castle for Hogwarts, a lighten bolt for Harry’s scar, a dragon for the Hungarian Horntail in book 4, the Deathly Hallows symbol, a book for a spell book (or the Monster Book of Monsters), a tiara for Ravenclaw’s diadem, Ron’s nemesis– spiders, a snake for Voldemort’s pet Nagini, and for Salazar Slytherin, a tree for the Whomping Willow, the Sorting Hat, a letter for that first acceptance letter to Hogwarts, a frog for Neville’s pet toad Trevor, and an owl for Hedwig (and all the other wizarding owls.)

I used the same basic design and techniques that I used for my swim team charm bracelet. I started by systematically spacing all of the charms. This bracelet has a fair number of charms on it. After putting all of the charms onto the bracelet, I added one bead into every link. I used the colors of Hogwart’s houses: Yellow, Blue, Green and Red.  I love how full it ended up being and how cute it looks.  I’ve got quite a few themed bracelets up my sleeves now, so expect to see them again!

Oh, and lest I forget; Happy Birthday Harry!

Fan Charm Bracelet Tutorial {Summer Swim League Swag}

I was lucky enough to be able to have a guest post over at Alderberry Hill a couple of weeks ago!   I’m just starting to get my feet wet with jewelry making, but I’ve always loved charms and beads. When I was a little girl, my mother had this beautiful silver charm bracelet that she got on her sixteenth birthday, and I loved to take it out of her jewelry box and admire it.  I always wanted one just like hers, but never had one.  However, this summer is my chance!  I made my own charm bracelet!

My Mom Made That: Summer Swim Leauge Button

As you probably know from my other Swim League Swap posts, swimming is big in the months of May and June around here.  Frog is a swimmer, and not being much of an athlete, I am a big sports mom!  I love being able to get out there and cheer for him.  Watching your child compete is a thrill of excitement and fear unlike anything else I’ve ever experienced.  I wanted to make some cool swag that I could wear to show my support of Frog’s swimming prowess, so I made a Swim Team Fan Charm Bracelet for myself!  This project can be personalized and tailored to any sport, just change up the team colors, and charms you use.
