Basketball Mom Shirt: Cricut Made

It’s the middle of basketball season around here.  It’s January, and for middle school basketball, we have about 8 more weeks of games.  (Then AAU season starts, but that is another kettle of fish entirely.)  The Big One plays a lot of basketball between lessons, games, and practice, we are often running from gym to gym.  I’ve picked up a fair amount of spirit wear as a sports mom, including several basketball mom shirts, but the reality is that I can always use a few more.  I decided to use my Cricut Explore Air to create my very own Basketball Mom shirt.  I’m going to share the shirt with you today, along with a quick tutorial to show you how to turn font and images into a single Welded image.  By doing this, your designs become even easier to position on fabric, and you don’t have unexpected cut lines.

Here's an easy to make Basketball Mom Shirt that is a simple DIY project with Iron-On Vinyl. It's a perfect graphic tee to make with your Cricut machine that any mother can wear to their child's basketball games and tournaments.

Mike Holmes Baby Onesie

The Haven Conference was this weekend, and it was so much fun.  It was really fun for the Silhouette Challenge group because we got to catch up with each other and meet!  It was also an awesome conference because several HGTV stars were there, including one of my all time favorites, Mike Holmes!   Our theme this month for the Silhouette Challenge was Our Favorite Things,  and I thought that onesies and home improvements stars were two of my favorite things.  When I went to Haven, I wanted to make sure that I had something special for Mike Holmes to sign, so I created a onesie for My Little Monkey with Mike Holmes’ logo, “Make It Right!”

It was such an easy design to make.  I used black flocked HTV and a red “Rabbit Skin” onesie that I bought at Amazon.  I ended up finding a hammer image online, and used that image along with Mike Holmes’ Trademark “Make It Right!”  (By the way, if you ever go meet a celebrity with their trademarked phrase on an item you created, be sure to tell them that you aren’t selling them and didn’t pay for the shirt!)  During his session and Q&A at Haven, I had Mike Holmes sign the onesie.

Now my little builder Monkey has a one of a kind Mike Holmes Onesie to wear!  I’m not sure he’s going to be that impress, but I am!

Too Cute to Be Crabby Onesie {Summer Fun Series}

I’m excited today to be a part of the Summer Fun series that is being hosted by Emily over at Nap-Time Creations.  Today there are four other summer-inspired projects that you can visit on four other blogs (links are at the bottom of the page!)  Our family is planning on taking a brief vacation to the beach this summer, and I wanted to make sure that the Little Monkey was dressed in style with some beachy attire.  I found a pair of swim trunks and a matching beach hat with a happy looking crab on it, and I really thought that the Little Monkey needed a matching Onesie.  Using flocked HTV and my Silhouette Portrait, I was easily able to whip up a onesie that will go perfect with his beach clothes.  This particular pattern required me to build upon the HTV process that I used to make the Captain America Romper.  Here’s how I made a flocked HTV onesie without layering the HTV.

Captain America Romper

Superheros seem to be a theme around here these days.  I’m working on a few projects right now that involve superheros, and previously, I made these knobs, and these mugs.  I guess a house full of boys will do that.  With the Fourth of July being just around the corner, I decided that Captain America would be the perfect superhero for the Little Monkey’s Fourth of July outfit.  This was a quick and easy project with Silhouette Flocked HTV, and the Captain American symbol and shield is an easy design to create.  This could have easily been a t-shirt or onesie, but I used a romper by Rabbit Skins that I found at Amazon. (Affiliate Link.) These come in many different sizes and colors, and are perfect to create a patriotic Captain America Romper.

No-Sew Valentine’s Day Pillows

I love throw pillows.  Mellow man not so much.  Last Valentine’s Day, I made a pillow using Heat-N-Bond and a felt place mat.  Later in the year I made other envelope pillows, and I’ve found that they are very easy to sew.  The best part of envelope pillows is the ability to change them easily and quickly.  I like being able to change the covers to suit the season, and gives me more decorating options.  I wanted to try my hand at making envelope pillows using Heat N Bond, rather than sewing.  I know that sometimes it just isn’t convenient to pull out the sewing machine, so I thought I’d see if I could make a no sew version of the envelope pillow, like the curtain that I made a few weeks ago. I also wanted to try my hand at making a few Valentine’s Day pillows with Heat Transfer Vinyl with my trusty Silhouette Portrait.  It took me a bit to figure out the best way to make these No Sew Valentine’s Day Pillows, but I did end up with two cute no sew Valentine’s Day pillows.
