Happy Holly Days Felt Ornament

Although this post is sponsored by Cricut, all opinions are my own.

When I first met the wonderful Cricut staff in Utah during Snap Conference along with my friend, Crystal, at Hello Creative Family, I learned all about the materials that one can cut with the Cricut Explore Air.  It’s an impressive list; however, I was particularly excited about its ability to cut wool felt.  You see, I have this love for felt, and enjoy using it for many different projects.  I was thrilled with the idea that my Cricut Explore would be able to cut out intricate designs for me to use.  This week I used it to create this Happy Holly Days Felt Ornament without any need to use my own scissors.

Make this Happy Holly Days Felt Ornament for your Christmas Tree this year with your Cricut Explore Air. Did you know that the machine could cut felt in such intricate details? Well it can, learn more as well as get access to the project in Cricut Design Space.

3 Easy DIY Frozen Ornaments

Okay, we love Disney around here.  And after 4 straight years of going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, we are heading to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party next week!  I’m so excited!  In honor of our trip down to DisneyWorld, and thanks to some Black Friday shopping, I created 3 easy DIY Frozen Ornaments.  I started with one variation after going to Michael’s, and then as I was browsing, I ended up gathering enough supplies to make three variations along with a few extras for my sweet Mother-in-Law’s little grandnieces who are also Frozen obsessed.  The Monkey, even though it is a “Princess Movie,” loves to sing Let it Go, and is quite fond of Olaf.   If you have a Frozen or Disney lover like my little Monkey, you might like to make any one of these three very easy DIY Frozen ornaments!

Wild about Disney, and the movie Frozen? If you have a little Elsa or Anna or Olaf who loves the movie, Frozen, you can create these 3 easy DIY Frozen Ornaments for your Christmas tree with just a few supplies and all in one evening!

Glitter and Vinyl Minecraft Ornament for Christmas

One of my family’s Christmas traditions is the addition of a meaningful Christmas ornament to each child’s ornament collection every year.  I have a great collection of ornaments that date back to the year I was born, and when my boys move out and start their own families, their ornament collections will go to their new homes to decorate their own Christmas Tree.  (My mom has on her own tree an ornament made each year by my grandmother that she was a child.) The Big One has an extensive ornament collection that includes the Steelers (his favorite team), Zoo Animals, and Harry Potter— all favorites during particular stages of his life.  The Little Monkey just has his “My First Christmas” ornaments, but it’s time to grow his collection.  Using my cutting machine (one can use either a Silhouette or Cricut machine), I decided to create some easy glitter and vinyl ornaments that featured special firsts for my boys.  We just went to see Santa, and had our Little Monkey cry hysterically, so I made a Santa ornament for him.  For the Big One I made a special Minecraft ornament.  He’s obsessed with Minecraft right now.
Older school-aged children, tweens and teens love Minecraft. It's an fun computer game that is enjoyed by so many boys and girls. I wanted to create a special Minecraft ornament for my son, and using a clear cube ornament, glitter and vinyl, I created an easy DIY Minecraft creeper ornament. I also show how to use the technique to create a Santa Belt ornament. This works great with any cutting machine, either a Cricut or Silhouette. A Free Cut File for the Creeper is included in the post so you can make your very own Easy Glitter and Vinyl Minecraft Ornament for your Christmas tree.
