It must be nearly spring! Houses are selling in our neighborhood quickly, and lots of families are out doing beautification projects. When I was driving around our neighborhood, I was noticing that there were a lot of pretty mailboxes, and I started thinking that we needed to replace ours. After pricing them, and realizing the cost, and acknowledging that all my mailbox needed was a little TLC, I decided that a mailbox refurbishment rather than a replacement was in order. I thought I’d share how I went about refurbishing our mailbox, as it takes only a couple of hours, spaced over a weekend. With the springtime weather, this is such an easy DIY to spruce up your outdoor home!

My Monkey loves Transformers. Well, not all the Rescue BotsTransformers, but he’s wild about , which are perfect for little hands. Even the Peanut enjoys these Rescue Bots. Well, we’ve got a lot of them, and one day the Monkey decided that he wanted to store them in this large plastic Animal Cracker Container. And I’m willing to do anything that will encourage a 4- and 2-year-old to organize and pick up. When he started putting them all into this container, I decided to make it a bit more in style for his cool Rescue Bots by using an image that I downloaded from the internet and uploading it into Cricut Design Space to create the Monkey’s very own Upcycled Transformer Logo Container.
The Monkey loves Goldfish crackers, particularly when he gets home from preschool and needs a little quiet time after a day of playing and learning. He asks to watch one of “My Shows, not grown-up shows!” and requests Goldfish crackers and a cup of milk. He also likes to be independent. That’s very important for him. We keep most of his straws, cups and dishes at a level that he can reach because it’s very important that he does it “all by myself.” I made with a clear storage jar and some spare vinyl this quick and easy DIY Goldfish Snacks Jar, so that the Monkey can get his own yummy Goldfish Crackers.
Okay, we love Disney around here. And after 4 straight years of going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, we are heading to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party next week! I’m so excited! In honor of our trip down to DisneyWorld, and thanks to some Black Friday shopping, I created 3 easy DIY Frozen Ornaments. I started with one variation after going to Michael’s, and then as I was browsing, I ended up gathering enough supplies to make three variations along with a few extras for my sweet Mother-in-Law’s little grandnieces who are also Frozen obsessed. The Monkey, even though it is a “Princess Movie,” loves to sing Let it Go, and is quite fond of Olaf. If you have a Frozen or Disney lover like my little Monkey, you might like to make any one of these three very easy DIY Frozen ornaments!
Based on my Facebook feed, I would hazard a guess that I’m not the only woman out there who is thrilled that we are getting to see what happened to Rory and Lorelai in the last ten years in new episodes of the Gilmore Girls. I’m not sure what made this show a cult classic for women, but it was. It was for me. I have the complete series on DVD, just in case Netflix decides to stop making them available. The Mellow Man says that while he is in love with Lauren Graham, the dialogue on the show is rather exhausting and fast. That got me to thinking– maybe that’s why we women love the show so much! It’s the clever repartee between Rory and Lorelai Gilmore. There are so many great conversational moments and quotes from the Gilmore Girls, particularly from Lorelai Gilmore, and I have a hard time picking my overall favorite. That being said, I think one of my top 5 quotes is about flexibility, “As long as everything is exactly the way I want it, I’m totally flexible.” That quote describes me, and actually most of my household. In honor of the release of all new Gilmore Girls episodes and my love of the show, I used that quote to create an easy Gilmore Girls Fan Notebook.
