I received the Nuby Insulated Soft Sipper free for review, but all opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own!

A few weeks ago, I found out that I’m a Nuby Mommy Blogger!  (Did you see my new badge under my Affiliates and Sponsors section?)  I was thrilled to get this opportunity, particularly with a company whose products I already liked and owned.  They sent me a collection of products to review and share with my readers, and today, I’m excited to be able to share the Insulated No-Spill™ Soft Sipper™ that I received from Nuby free for review.  We use a lot of sippy cups around here, as I’m sure all mommy of older infants, toddlers and preschooler do, and there are always a few cups that I turn back to on a regular basis.  After two weeks of regular use, I can tell you my opinion of the Insulated No-Spill™ Soft Sipper™.  To go along with this review, I created a Sippy Cup Leash for use with my new soft sipper, and I’d love for you to check out that post too!

In general, what I am looking for in a sippy cup is something that #1 Doesn’t Leak and is #2 Easy to Clean!  Monkey gets one sippy cup that should last him the better part of the day.  I hate to have to use multiple sippy cups during the day.  What I found out about the Insulated No-Spill™ Soft Sipper™ is that it really keeps the Monkey water or juice nice and chilled throughout the day.  I don’t need to worry about the him picking up the cup from under the TV stand at the end of the day and taking a sip– the juice will stay fresh.  In fact, he didn’t drink any of his juice one night at dinner, and I put the cup in the fridge after dinner.  On the next morning, I was very pleasantly surprised to find that the ice was still in cup and hadn’t melted.

Liquids pass through spout only when your child sips. Dual control also means that you can set how quickly the liquid comes out when your child takes a drink.  Since Monkey is a nursling still, I tend to set it to the “slow” side because he still seems surprised when he gets a mouthful of liquid too quickly.

Nuby Sippy Cup Monkey 3This was the first sippy cup that Monkey has used without the handles, and he seemed to really like it.  It also meant that it fit easily in all of the cup holders in our car and stroller.  He found it easy to use, and Nuby rates this cup for any infant older than six months.

Now for the cleaning… how much of a pain was it?  Actually, this was a pretty easy job.  (You can see the top and cup in the water above, the other sippy cup is another one we have by Nuby, the Click-It Grip and Sip.) The valve removes completely for to allow for a quick scrub and cleansing.

Then the top needs to be cleaned.  The only part that would be a problem is the top of the spout if Monkey threw the cup somewhere, and it was forgotten until the materials solidified.  This happened years ago with the Frog, so I’m sure that it could happen again.

Nuby Sippy Cup Clean Up 3I think we’ll be getting a lot more use out of this sippy cup.  The other feature that I wanted to mention that I liked was its size– it is a 9 ounce cup.  I think this is a great size for a day trip with a young toddler.  You can stick a couple of ice cubes in it, fill it with some water and have a perfect sized drink for your day at the playground.  Happy drinking!
