You know that story, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie? Well, here’s what happened at our house the other night. Mellow Man decided that he wanted to make his fajitas, and that got me to craving some chips. You know the delicious corn chips that the local Mexican restaurants put at your table when you arrive. Then I got to thinking, after I grabbed the chips at Publix, that what I really wanted was some guacamole. While I was the produce section looking for fresh guacamole, I found that the store didn’t have the kind I like (I don’t like cilantro). However, I looked over and saw a lovely looking Avocado straight from Mexico. So I decided to grab it. Then I got to thinking that what I really wanted was some 7-layer dip to go with the avocado.
I headed over to the Mexican food section to get Refried Beans and the tortillas that the Mellow Man needed for his dish. The Big One was there, and he said, “Hey, I don’t want Fajitas, I want Tacos.” I said sure, so I grabbed a Taco making kit to go with my refried beans. Then I realized that the tortillas weren’t there, but I saw these cool Tortilla Bowls, and I got to thinking… I want to make a 7-layer Tortilla Dip Bowl! So I did!
This is so super easy, and all you need is:
- 1 Avocado
- 1 Container of Salsa (we get the freshly made in the refrigerated section of Publix)
- 1 Container of Sour Cream
- 1 Can of Old El Paso Refried Beans
- Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 Can Black Olives
- 1 Package of Old El Paso Stand and Stuff Tortillas
Tacos and fajitas are great too, but this just really hit the spot!
Do you ever get the craving for 7-layer dip?
