The Monkey loves Goldfish crackers, particularly when he gets home from preschool and needs a little quiet time after a day of playing and learning.  He asks to watch one of “My Shows, not grown-up shows!” and requests Goldfish crackers and a cup of milk.  He also likes to be independent.  That’s very important for him.  We keep most of his straws, cups and dishes at a level that he can reach because it’s very important that he does it “all by myself.”  I made with a clear storage jar and some spare vinyl this quick and easy DIY Goldfish Snacks Jar, so that the Monkey can get his own yummy Goldfish Crackers.

After seeing this inexpensive jar at a local store, I knew that it was a perfect size to store Goldfish Crackers.  I picked it up along with 3 bags of the Goldfish Crackers that are Baked with the Whole Grain Cheddar.  When I started making this jar with my cutting machine, I wasn’t expecting the Monkey to be quite so excited.  I decided the pattern with the curved text, “Goldfish Snacks” around the shape of a goldfish that looked quite similar to the actual cracker.

After cutting out the two different colors of vinyl, I used transfer tape to position the vinyl, starting with the orange goldfish image, and overlaying the words, “Goldfish Snacks” on top of the goldfish. If you’d like access to the Goldfish Snacks Jar design that I may, here you go.

The Monkey was so excited to add his Goldfish crackers to his new Goldfish Snacks Jar.  It was good for me too because it allowed to consolidate the half-eaten bags that we had!  Now, when he gets home from preschool and wants his quiet time, he can help himself to a small bowl of Pepperidge Farms Goldfish Crackers while I get him a cup of milk.  Then we can all cuddle up together and watch a favorite show during his Quiet Time while his little brother naps.
