Today I wanted to share the super easy Mickey Mouse Party Banners that I made for our recent #DisneyKids Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Preschool Playdate.  I had been wanting to make a custom party banner using my Cricut Explore Air, and this party seemed like the perfect opportunity to make one.  I decided to make two different versions, one where I created a traditional party paper chain garland, and the other being a lettered Disney banner.  I was delighted with how both of them turned out, and how easy they were to make.  In case you’d liked to make some for your own Mickey Mouse Party, I’ve included links to the Cricut Design Space files for you to use.

If you have plenty of cardstock and glue sticks in your craft supplies, you won’t need a lot to make these banners, but here’s exactly what I used.

To make the traditional paper chain, I used Design Space to create a rectangle in a standard size and pattern, and created 3 mats, one in yellow, one in red and one in black.  I also made small Mickey Mouse patterns that were available in the Disney® Mickey Font Cartridge.  If you’d like to use this paper chain pattern, I’ve made it publicly available in Cricut Design Space.

With this design, I could keep making the chain longer by simply cutting more of the design out.  I made 8 copies for my own chain, which ended up making a chain that is about 20 feet long.

I simply used a glue stick and some eager little helpers to make the paper chain, which took one episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse to make.  I glued the small Mickey Mouse heads to the red links in chain.

I created the second banner after I found this amazing and giant stiffened felt Mickey Mouse head at my local Michael’s store.  I used a basic banner shape that is available with a Cricut Access Membership, and the Disney font.  If you’d like to make the banner for yourself, here is the file in Cricut Design Space.

Once the design was cut out, I attached all of the layers with glue sticks.

Then I began to assemble the banner by attaching the felt Mickey Mouse to the center of the length of cord using Fabric Fuse glue, and then reinforced by a length of duct tape.

Then I simply positioned all of the pieces of the banner onto the cord with the miniature paper clips.

Then all that was required was hanging them both up for the party!

The chain was so long and heavy that I needed help to hang it!

These were so easy to make my Cricut Explore Air™ machine and looked so professional that I can’t believe that I haven’t been making party banners before!   I probably should have another party!
